Photography exploration: Moody Portraits

Hey everyone!

So to get myself out of this rut I’ve been feeling due to the winter weather, I looked up how to create moody portraits using a simple light set up. Let me just say, the results came out pretty amazing!

I used a simple grey backdrop, had my model stand roughly 4 ft in front of it and lit them only from one side (the light was hitting them as softly as i could get with my light kit). These are the results!

I did a lot of tinkering with the lights and trying to get it just right out of camera, but I think for my first time it’s pretty amazing.
